Policy Adhered at Little Dino Playgroup
At Little Dino Playgroup, we are fully committed to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all children in our care. Our policies are carefully designed to ensure the wellbeing, development, and happiness of every child, as well as to support parents and guardians with clear and transparent guidelines. From safeguarding practices and health protocols to behaviour management and equal opportunities, we adhere to the highest standards to create a positive and enriching experience for everyone involved. By fostering open communication and upholding these policies, we aim to build a trusted partnership with families and provide the best possible foundation for every child’s early years.
What are the most important rules or guidelines parents and children need to be aware of when joining Little Dino Playgroup?
Our key guidelines include safeguarding and promoting health and wellbeing, fire safety protocols, and our no refund policy on admission fees (£250). An advance payment is required and is non-refundable, but ensures your child's place. If you decide to withdraw your child, we require four weeks' advance notice.We conduct weekly fire drills with all staff and children. Upon registration, we require verification of parent and child documents, including birth certificates, red book, passports, and proof of address. Non-payments after three failed attempts will be sent to collection departments. All staff are trained and qualified with Enhanced DBS checks. If parents have any concerns about a child, they must report it to the manager of Little Dino Playgroup and MASH/LADO in the local borough, Tower Hamlets.
How do you handle issues like late pick-up?
Important Payment and Late Pick-Up Policies
For late pick-ups, a mandatory fee of £1 per minute will be added for every minute past the agreed pick-up time without exception. Additionally, if monthly fees are not paid on time, a late payment fee of £25 will automatically apply. These policies are in place to ensure fairness and smooth operations, and we kindly ask all customers to adhere to them. Thank you for your understanding.
What measures do you have in place to ensure the safety of children at Little Dino Playgroup?
We ensure all children are safe by meeting all health and safety and fire safety protocols. We conduct weekly fire drills to teach children how to stay safe. If a child shows signs of unhappiness, this will be discussed with parents. Any information shared by a child with our staff will be discussed with parents or our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). We aim to create a secure and supportive environment for all children.
What about cancellations?
Cancellation Policy
Please note that any cancellations made by parents will result in the forfeiture of the deposit or advance payment. Unfortunately, these payments are non-refundable under any circumstances. We appreciate your understanding and encourage careful planning to avoid inconveniences.
What happens in case of unexpected closures?
Emergency Closure Procedures at Little Dino Playgroup
In the unlikely event that Little Dino Playgroup needs to close unexpectedly due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a fire or flood, we want to assure parents that our administrative staff will act swiftly to notify all families. Communication will be made immediately via phone, email, or other available channels to ensure everyone is informed promptly. The safety and well-being of the children, parents, and staff remain our top priority, and we will work diligently to keep you updated throughout the process.

At our playgroup, we strictly follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) guidelines to ensure the highest standards of care and safety for your children. Before taking children out on any trips or outdoor activities, we conduct a thorough risk assessment to ensure their well-being. If we arrange any outings or excursions, we will always inform all parents in advance, keeping you fully updated and involved in the process. Your child’s safety and your peace of mind are our top priorities.
What if Parents don't want their child photo to be on your flyers or newsletters?
Respecting Privacy: When Parents Prefer Not to Share Their Child's Photo
At our organisation, we deeply value the privacy and preferences of every family we work with. If parents do not wish for their child's photo to appear on our flyers, newsletters, or any other promotional material, we fully understand and respect their choice. To accommodate this, we have measures in place to ensure that their request is honoured. Simply inform us of your preference, and we will ensure that your child’s image is not included in any publications. Transparency and respect are at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment for all families.
